Content: Sandra Atakora @ Warp &Â Weft A PROCESS ON THE EXPLORATION OF FORM, SPACE, LIGTH, COLORS, PATTERNS, AND TEXTURES Â My name is Sandra Atakora, and I am a design intern at Warp & Weft. In August 2014 I left Denmark, my home through 24 years, and moved to Brooklyn, New York to pursue a Masterâ€™s Degree in Industrial Design at Pratt Institute. I arrived with two tightly packed suitcases, my Bachelorâ€™s in Industrial Design Engineering, all my hopes and dreams for the future, and an indomitable motivation to become the best designer I could possibly be. I was quickly immersed in the inspiring, hectic, crazy, and always seething with creativity environment of the Pratt campus. I learned new ways of seeing, developing, and thinking about design and aesthetics, and a class dedicated entirely to the theory of color added an extra dimension to this newfound awareness of even the smallest detail in every design. Â The concluding project in the color class taught by professor Meri Bourgard was on rug design, and I first met Michael Mandapati, founder of Warp & Weft, when he attended our final presentation as a guest critic. I am now interning at Warp & Weft, continuously learning, exploring and experimenting with colors, concepts and designs. Â Creativity is process, and this is a documentation thereof.
